I feel numb for the cold in my hands, my legs shaking and my beating heart it’s to slow to provide me with enough blood to my empty vanes. The early light of the sun disturb my conscience and wakes me up. I look around in any direction and there is no sign of my beast, I smile and think in him seeking out an animal to eat, but I’m wishing that he bring me something too.
The morning star to become a day and I haven’t see my beast Nahui, I’m not worry ‘cause he can take care of his own. My Nahui it is as we know has a War Beast, a demon dog. Born in the deepest mountains of the North, an intrinsic word of flames and ashes, dust and wing, were just the strongest survives, we call it The Vandels. With claws and teeth of black steel he haunts, taller that a human and stronger as an elephant cover up with heavy and dark hair, cleaver and neurotic, with green eyes that drives you into madness with evil thoughts, this last few are part of my imagination or at least is what I think so about him.
When I knew Nahui I was too young to realize the danger I was getting in to, I was just a child. Was in the footpath of the Mountains of Vandels, he was just a little dog, but do not mistake the fierce and the force that he possessed with his age. So early in life and he was so powerful, so dominant and so feared.
He just have finish to devour a pack of wolfs and as he ate, he looked me into my eyes, I was petrified, but I did not feared him, just was fascinated for the mighty dog he was. He started to so round me and he was trying to find a week spot on my posture to attack me or at least I was thinking. As he kept walking around me I turned to keep an eye on him. The blood spilled out of his mouth and the remaining bones of the dead animals crushed with every step he took. The wind was blowing and the silhouettes of tears from the clouds stroked so hard in a moment of silence, that the tiny noises were so overwhelming. We can feel it in the air; a storm was near.
Unpredictable moves, calculated thoughts, distressed moments before the encounter. The wind was blowing even stronger, the lightning bolts and the screaming flashes of the thunders make his appearance. I’ve never felt the air so nasty and furious. The Rain God was here and he wasn’t leaving without blood.
